I am Jo Selwood.
Through massage, yoga and TRE®, I offer a supportive space for you to feel at home in your body, regulate your nervous system and deepen your sensory awareness.
Coming into closer connection with the present through our felt senses can begin a process of unraveling tension, letting go of defenses, beliefs and control that limit us from experiencing pleasure, vibrancy and aliveness.
Many of us dance between feeling too much or not enough. Physical or emotional pain and discomfort can make it harder to stay present with ourselves and in connection to our bodies and so we stop trusting, shut down and turn-off.
If you’re struggling to manage symptoms of accumulative stress, PTSD, burnout, grief or depression, learning to regulate your nervous system will assist you in building the resilience required to stay fully engaged with life through both its ups and downs.

My Offerings
MASSAGE
My approach to massage is intuitive and intentional. Through meeting the body with full presence and compassion it is invited to let go and for tension to unravel. I work with the nervous system to calm and soothe and relieve tension in a way that the body and whole being can integrate, encouraging longer lasting benefits.
YOGA
In a one to one yoga session, the focus can be tailored to your individual goals and preferences, this could include working with injury, learning ways to move more freely with less pain or discomfort, creating a tailor made flow for you to take home, ensuring safe and correct alignment in postures and execution of pranayama techniques.
TRE®
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises is a technique that uses simple exercises to stretch and fatigue certain muscle groups to evoke a natural and involuntary tremor mechanism within the body. These tremors can help to release daily stresses as well as deeply held tension and trauma. It works on a neurological, physiological, psychological and emotional level.

My Mission
The core intention of my work is to assist people to increase their capacity to feel, to shed defensive and reactive patterns and integrate new healthy ways of being, always striving for a balance between soft and receptive and still strong and resilient.
